Self healing looks different for everyone but it can include a variety of practices. The first step is to be kind to yourself. Remember that your coping mechanisms may not be the healthiest but they have served you well thus far. Older adults described self-healing as a process of physiology, psychology and interpersonal relations. The subthemes were exercise, healthy sleep and eating habits, stress management, optimism and positive thinking.
