Spiritual energy is a concept that can be confusing. From a logical perspective, energy powers lights and can be measured in physics (thanks to Einstein’s E = mc squared).
But many spiritual writers use the term “energy” to describe something different. In this article, we’ll explore what exactly spiritual energy is.
It’s a Force
Spiritual energy is a force, the power of life that sustains all living things. It gives people a sense of purpose, an internal locus of control and a connection to the universe. The most effective spiritual practices work to channel this energy, and they often focus on removing the barriers that hinder its flow.
This includes emotional baggage and limiting beliefs. It can also manifest as physical discomfort or illness. In this case, it’s important to find a qualified healer who can identify and treat the underlying causes of the issue.
Spiritual energy can be accessed through prayer. It’s a way of tapping into God’s power, aligning our will with His and empowering us for service. In fact, Colossians 1:11 states that believers are “strengthened with all might according to His glorious strength for all patience and long-suffering with joy in the Holy Spirit.” The Bible also references this power in Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.” [1]
It’s a Consciousness
Spiritual energy is a consciousness that interprets internal and external stimuli. It allows us to comprehend physical and psychological reality through a holistic awareness that is unclouded by the judgment and subjectivity of the human mind.
If we were to see this energy as electromagnetic vibrations, it would vibrate at a much higher frequency than radiowaves, microwaves and soundwaves. We cannot perceive this energy with our physical senses, but many believe it exists.
Spiritual energy, if it were understood as an energy field, would enter into and animate fundamentally inert structures. Trying to probe this realm with the methodology of physical science is like forcing a square peg into a circle hole. This is why parapyschologists are largely ridiculed by the scientific community. They have borrowed a word from the common man’s vocabulary, changed its meaning and are using it in a context for which it was never intended. It’s poor form, indeed. The term ‘energy’ already has a well defined meaning in physics and it satisfies well established laws such as E=mc
It’s a Power
Just like the electricity that powers your TV or the force of gravity that pulls a ball into your hands, spiritual energy is also a power. It’s often thought that people have the ability to harness and use this spiritual energy to change their lives. This is referred to as spiritual strength or empowerment, and it is thought that this spiritual energy can be used to complete a person’s divine purpose or dharma.
Many spiritual traditions have taught of auras, energies that are believed to emanate from living beings. These are often portrayed in art or literature as people glowing, emanating light, or wearing halos. There are also scientific experiments like the water molecule/rice experiment performed by Masaru Emoto that may be proof of this concept.
Some people believe they can tap into this spiritual energy by engaging in activities such as meditation or prayer. They believe that channeling this energy helps them heal and transform themselves. Others believe that this energy can give them guidance and empower them to make good choices in their life.
It’s a Source
Spiritual energy, sometimes called holy spirit in Christianity, is a non-ordinary awakened consciousness that makes you alive. It is closely associated with your emotions and has a connection to the heart.
You’ve probably heard people talk about someone having a high or low energy. In the spiritual world, they may be referring to their ability to align themselves with the divine flow of life or to their level of evolution or enlightenment.
Aligning yourself with this energy is done through spiritual practices such as meditation and prayer. This energy can heal physical, emotional and mental ailments as well as provide guidance and wisdom. It is a form of energy that many have been perceiving and feeling but can’t quite explain to their satisfaction or prove scientifically.
