Self healing isn’t going to be a smooth ride up, it will probably have some dips but you want to try to go up more than you go down. It is a journey that will take time and you should also include some outside support.
People with a self-healing personality tend to have emotional balance and a healthy life style. They are enthusiastic, energetic and well-informed, with a flexible approach to handling challenges.
Meditation
Meditation is one of the best self healing techniques that helps your body relax. It also trains your mind to observe emotions without judgment, so they have less power over you. This can help you recognize cravings and other unhealthy tendencies as just thoughts or feelings, instead of reacting to them.
Meditate on the sound of OM (pronounced AUM). This mantra has a special vibration that soothes your entire system. You can use a guided meditation from Insight Timer or another audio app to support you in this.
Another helpful healing meditation is a body scan. This type of meditation focuses on the sensations in each part of your body, including discomfort and pain. During this, you can practice meeting physical discomfort with a soft presence and releasing any resistance or fear you may have around the experience.
Yoga
Yoga is one of the oldest techniques for self healing, and has been used for centuries to promote physical, mental, and spiritual health. The practices of yoga, tai chi, and Qigong are often referred to as “meditation in motion.”
These holistic movements have been shown to reduce stress levels and help individuals manage their health conditions more effectively. They also can help relieve back pain, neck pain, and joint pain.
Regular practice of yoga can help you to develop a deeper connection with yourself, which is essential for emotional self healing. It also encourages you to cultivate a state of balance in your life and provides you with the tools needed to face challenges as they arise. This is one of the key elements in allowing you to be your own healer.
Nutrition
A healthy diet is essential to the healing process. It helps reduce inflammation, protect against heart disease and stabilize blood sugar levels. Eating a diet that includes healing foods can also help prevent nutritional deficiencies.
To help your body heal, try to avoid processed ingredients and eat whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. You can also incorporate dairy and meat into your meals. Make sure you eat plenty of protein to promote muscle growth and recovery.
The older adults interviewed for this study emphasized the importance of self-healing in three areas – physiology, psychology and interpersonal relations. They cited physical exercise and proper stamina, a positive attitude and good interpersonal relations as important components of physiology. They also emphasized sleep, a healthy appetite and illness control as parts of psychology.
Exercise
Exercise is a powerful self healing technique because it helps to energize and purify the body. It also improves sleep and mood and increases flexibility and strength.
Ancient teachings and modern science increasingly concur: your body, mind and emotions are one integrated system. When you influence one aspect of this system, you change the total system.
To practice this healing technique, picture a person as healthy as possible in your mind. Then visualize that this person is surrounded by a golden sun of healing energy. This energy is white light, balancing and harmonizing body, mind and spirit. Then imagine this energy entering the specific area that needs healing and cleansing that area of its color (for example, if the problem is red, visualize that the red is flowing out of that specific area). Close your eyes, relax and see the image again.
Connecting With Your Soul
The soul connection (also called the spiritual self, Source energy or your spirit guides) is a key aspect of self healing. Your soul connects to both your mind and body and is what gives you your broader sense of purpose, meaning and inner peace.
To activate your soul, sit in a comfortable space and close your eyes. Visualize large roots growing from your feet and reaching into the Earth. Breathe deeply and release any negative emotions or energies. This grounding technique can help you reconnect with your soul and feel a stronger connection to the Earth, a process that may take some time as every internal wound has its own unique timeline. Spending time in nature is also a great way to reconnect with your soul and can increase feelings of empathy and connection with all living things.
