The act of self healing is the process of curing the inner wounds that have hindered our lives. Different efforts haven’t always been enough to heal our bodies. In UNAIR, psychologist Dr. Primatia Yogi Wulandari explains that self healing is necessary when our thoughts and feelings have become too intrusive in our daily life. The process of self healing involves engaging our body, mind, and lifestyle in self care.

The earliest self-healing materials were polymers with embedded internal adhesive. These materials were first reported in 2001. In addition, these materials come in four basic categories: those with embedded “healing agents,” those with internal “vascular” circulation, and shape memory materials. These materials can be self-healing if they are damaged by external means, and some of them can even regenerate themselves spontaneously. However, their mechanisms are still poorly understood.

Aside from a practice of self-healing, you can also work with a psychologist. Psychologists can guide clients through the process of self-healing by helping them identify their personal strength. Self-healing may seem daunting for some people, but psychologists can help those who find it hard to heal on their own.
