Just like gravity, spiritual energy is an invisible force that permeates this physical world. It affects all living things, both people and animals.
If you’re an empath or highly sensitive person (HSP), you may have experienced residual energy or encounters with Spirit. Understanding what these energies are and how to deal with them is important.
Emotional
Emotional spiritual energy can be a source of joy and happiness. It is also a powerful force that drives your ability to love. When channeled correctly, emotional spiritual energy can boost happiness, improve concentration and reduce negative thoughts.
Similarly, spiritual energy can be used to heal physical ailments and conditions. In Chinese philosophy and medicine, it is known as qi; in yoga and meditation practice, it is called prana. In modern psychology, it is known as the flow state.
Residual spiritual energy can also inhabit objects, people and places. This type of energy can be more challenging to discern. It may not evoke emotions or have a clear purpose for being present. It may need to be cleansed by using other methods besides herbal cleansing. This is particularly true for empaths and HSPs who tend to absorb more residual spiritual energies. This is why it’s important for them to understand how to work with these energies and use protection.
Intentional
The energy of intentional spirituality transforms your actions into purposeful practices. It involves consciously setting clear intentions and reflecting on your daily activities to ensure they align with your Intent and the ‘I AM’ presence.
You can cultivate the power of intentional energy through meditation and visualization. Breath work like pranayama and qi gong can help regulate and direct your energy. Intentional chanting and prayer are also powerful tools for shifting and directing your energy.
Practicing intentional spirituality requires an open mind and a curious spirit. It also helps to be mindful of your environment and surround yourself with uplifting people.
Spiritual energy can manifest as healing, synchronicities, emotional shifts, or new opportunities that are aligned with your soul. Learning to consciously direct this energy is one of the most transformative tools on your spiritual journey. You can begin by simply incorporating an intentional practice into your daily routine. You may start with something small, such as rising early to spend time in stillness and prayer each morning.
Universal
Universal spiritual energy is a force that animates all things. It is the energy that connects us to each other, to our souls and to the universe. It permeates the cosmos and can be tapped into by people who have had a spiritual awakening or are in a state of alignment.
This energy is also known as Qi, Prana, Mana or similar names and is a powerful force that can affect your life in big ways. Many of our ancient ancestors attempted to harness this energy to affect greater changes in their lives and even change their destinies.
In Hinduism, this energy is embodied by Devi or Shakti and represents the dynamic power that drives creation and shapes reality. For many of us, it can be accessed through a mindfulness meditation practice that helps calm the mind and allows the body to connect with its energy centers. It can also be accessed through energy healing practices like Reiki.
Spiritual
Spiritual energy is a form of energy that permeates the entire universe. Every living thing has this type of energy within them. This energy is divine, and it can be used by humans to achieve enlightenment.
Just as radiowaves, microwaves and sound waves radiate through physical space, so too does spiritual energy. However, this type of energy is much slower. It is also more subtle and has a close connection to our emotions.
For example, someone who has been through a lot of trauma may have a lot of stuck energy in their body. They can ask God or their guides to help clear this. Then, imagine their hand moving through their body like a big strainer lifting out any debris. This is called energetic clean up. It can be a very painful process for trauma survivors, but it is incredibly healing as well. It is important to note that spirituality transcends science but never contradicts or violates it.
