Spiritual Energy is the force that animates living beings and permeates the cosmos. It is known by many names, including Qi, Ki, Prana, Mana, and Pneuma.
When people talk about someone being high energy or low energy, they are referring to their individual levels of Spiritual Energy. Increasing your spiritual energy is key to becoming the best version of yourself!
1. Focus on the positive
You’ve probably heard that you can get energized by things like sunlight and water, or that thoughts are vibrations. This is a great place to start, but learning how to become energized from more places and experiences will help you stay happy, healthy, and grounded.
The way people interact with one another is also an indicator of their energy. For instance, if someone is always complaining, their negative energy will affect those around them. But if someone is positive, their energy will bring joy to those around them.
Some have even seen evidence of spiritual energy in life itself. The water molecule experiments of Masaru Emoto are an example, where frozen water exposed to kind words or music produced beautiful crystals, while those that were spoken negatively or in anger had disfigured ones.
2. Practice gratitude
Practicing gratitude is one of the best ways to stay grounded and connected. It’s a practice that is often referred to in self-help books and encouraged by religious and spiritual practices.
Gratitude is a powerful practice that can shift your energy from frustration, jealousy, anger, envy to an awareness of grace in your life. Grace is a gift that comes from within and is available to everyone, no matter their situation.
Start by recording the things you’re grateful for in your journal, and try to get in the habit of writing three or more items a day. It’s important to write from the heart. Also, be sure to include people in your journal who go above and beyond, like your child’s teacher, the nurse that helps a sick family member, or your significant other.
3. Practice meditation
When it comes to spiritual energy, meditation is key. This practice is a powerful way to connect with yourself and release negative energy.
Start by sitting comfortably and watching your breath (or doing the Present Moment Focus Meditation or the Meditation for Finding God). Then, repeat your chosen unifying phrase, either silently or aloud, whichever is most uplifting for you. Don’t worry if your mind jumps around – just return your attention to the words and feel into what they point to at their deepest level.
As you keep practicing, you may find that more phrases emerge that are even more uplifting for you. This is a sign that you’re opening to a deeper level of Awareness! Enjoy this beautiful journey!
4. Practice self-love
When it comes to spiritual energy, a big part of it is loving yourself. But that can be difficult, especially in a culture that often bombards us with blatant or subliminal messages telling us we’re not thin enough, pretty enough or charming enough.
Loving yourself means cherishing the unchangeable radiance that lives within you, no matter what people say or how they treat you. It also means removing negative self-talk that berates you for making mistakes or being vulnerable.
Practicing self-love aligns your energy with the love that moves throughout the universe, supporting your greatest intentions and bringing you closer to realizing your desires. Just like the water molecules in the rice experiment, it’s an invisible force that you can’t see, but whose effects you can feel.
5. Practice kindness
When it comes to spiritual energy, nothing is more powerful than kindness. Studies have shown that being kind makes us happier, increases our self-esteem, and promotes healthy relationships.
One of the most effective ways to cultivate this energy is through a loving kindness meditation. This practice is simple and easy to do, but it can have a profound impact on both your life and the lives of those around you.
To start, focus on someone you love and appreciate, like a friend or family member. Then, move on to someone who has challenged you or upset you, and send them love and compassion. Finally, expand your loving-kindness to include everyone and everything in the world, near and far. This final stage is often the hardest but helps us to let go of anger and fear, and connect with a deep sense of universal kindness.
