Wellness consciousness is an active process of achieving people’s full potential as individuals in the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of their lives. It involves living healthy, feeling good, and being able to cope with life’s challenges.
During the pandemic of COVID-19, health consciousness has a positive influence on home-based exercise through people’s health life goal and perceived behavioral control.
Physical
Physical wellness focuses on maintaining healthy behaviours that can help a person get through their daily activities without becoming fatigued or experiencing too much physical stress. It involves staying physically active through exercise, eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep, while also practicing good hygiene and being careful with substance use.
In addition, it includes taking regular medical exams, staying up to date on immunizations and vaccinations, practicing safe sexual practices and abstaining from alcohol and drug use. It is recommended that people engage in 30 minutes of aerobic activity at least three times per week to promote a more healthy lifestyle. Health consciousness has a positive impact on home-based exercise, suggesting that individuals should aim to increase their level of health consciousness to promote the formation of a health life goal and further enhance perceived behavioral control.
Mental
Mental wellness is related to a person’s ability to manage stress and emotions, have good self-esteem and social connections, and feel happy and satisfied. It includes activities such as exercising, eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and practicing mindfulness. Mental wellness also includes emotional resilience, which can be enhanced by practicing meditation or journaling. It can also be facilitated by social support from family and friends, and activities that challenge the mind, such as reading or playing puzzles.
This study confirms that health consciousness can directly affect home-based exercise, and indirectly affect it through health life goal and perceived behavioral control. Therefore, the results of this study can help people make better choices to improve their physical health. The mediating role of perceived behavioral control is consistent with the previous studies. Moreover, the results of this study provide a new insight into understanding the influence of health consciousness on behavior. This can help researchers and practitioners develop more effective strategies to promote health-related behaviors.
Emotional
Emotional wellness is an important aspect of overall health. It involves having a strong sense of self-worth, optimism, and the ability to cope with adversity. People with high emotional wellness often have the skills to manage stress, maintain healthy relationships, and cope with life’s challenges.
It also means having a positive attitude towards others and a desire to help them. It can be accomplished through mindfulness, compassion, gratitude, and finding meaning in life.
To achieve emotional wellness, try exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet. Expressing your feelings to a friend or family member can also be beneficial. It is also important to challenge your brain by reading or playing puzzles. In addition, it is vital to get enough sleep. Lastly, it is helpful to cultivate a positive mindset by practicing gratitude and embracing forgiveness. All of these factors contribute to your level of emotional wellness.
Spiritual
Spiritual wellness involves exploring a connection to something larger than yourself. It involves finding a sense of meaning and purpose, developing a belief system and values that guide your actions and understanding the importance of compassion, altruism, forgiveness and happiness.
Spiritual well-being can be difficult to measure, but people typically experience it in the form of hope, positive outlook, forgiveness/self-acceptance, and commitment. The pursuit of spiritual wellness often involves a journey that includes ups and downs, and may be influenced by personal circumstances, life events and global events.
Spiritual wellness activities include religious faith, spiritual practices, reflective thinking and spiritual growth. Creative expression, like art, music and writing, also plays a role in spiritual wellness, offering a means of self-reflection and discovery. Journaling can help track your spiritual insight progress and provide a safe place to externalize your thoughts and feelings. Silence is also a key component of spiritual wellness, providing an opportunity for meditation and reflection.
