Funding Your Authentic Lifestyle

What does it take to support yourself as you live your passion? How are you going to fund your authentic lifestyle?

Create an abundant life in every way

What does it mean to create an abundant life in every way?

It means creating a joyful life; a life of happiness filled with passion, purpose and wealth in every area - relationships, finances and wellness.

How do you create this?

How do you start from where you are now and create something that is going to allow you to really give your unique gifts in the way that only you can?

Your authentic lifestyle is a journey, not a destination. Every day, choose in favor of your passions and you will soon find yourself living a passionate life. As with any journey, this begins with the commitment to take the first step and then the next step after that. Until you are committed, nothing will happen for you. There is nothing more important to creating your authentic lifestyle than your unwavering commitment to choosing in favor of your passions.

What prevents you from taking that first step?

False Reality

What prevents you from living a passionate authentic lifestyle are your false beliefs, false concepts, and false ideas - your false reality. The biggest challenge that many of us face is that we have grown up with these false beliefs, concepts and ideas.

Here is how a child learns to rapidly fit into society: a child’s brain can download experiences at a super high rate of speed. From the moment a child is born through about the first six years of life she is in a super-learning state. Children learn and assimilate from how we treat them and how we respond to each other. We understand through hypnosis that you can download information into someone’s subconscious mind and bypass the conscious mind. Why is this relevant?

Because between birth and age six, the child’s EEG brain activity is operating in a hypnotic trance state, so that whatever the child is learning is being downloaded into the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind “records” and habitually plays back these programs. Think about all the rules of society, about every way we live, the nuances of our language. A three-year-old child can learn three different languages at the same time and not confuse their grammar, vocabulary or syntax. By age eight or nine just learning one new language is difficult. What is the difference?

When the child is under six, the conscious mind is not developed so it does not interfere with the programming. Observed life experiences are directly downloaded into the subconscious mind. At this time, the child also develops an idea of self-identity and these programs play throughout life.

- The Wisdom of the Cells by Dr. Bruce Lipton

Take a moment to think about your childhood and the primary caretakers of your childhood. Then give some thought to the societal conditionings you were raised with. Give especial attention to what you were taught about “earning a living” (do you really have to earn the right to live?). How much of this (usually well-meaning) indoctrination do you accept without question?

False beliefs, concepts and ideas are programmed into our subconscious from the beginning of our lives. This effectively creates a false reality which leads us to believe that we have to do something to make money that we really don’t care about; that we really don’t love. The result according to one study, is that 80% of Americans don’t live passionate lives.

“I have to do this so I can get to a point where I can live the way I’d really like to live; so I can support my family and enjoy some of the nicer things in life.”

Successful people connect their lives with what is most meaningful to them

Research has shown us that the people who are the most successful in life are not those who’ve said “I’ve got to do this so I can get to that.” Instead, the most successful people are those individuals who chose in favor of what has deepest meaning for them - the things that really hit deeply in their soul. These people made the choice to live their passion even when other people said “it’s not possible you’ll never be successful doing that…”

In their book, Success Built to Last: Creating a Life that Matters, authors Jerry Porras, Stewart Emery, and Mark Thompson challenge conventional thinking about how successful people become and stay successful.

Beginning by conducting more than 200 personal interviews, the coauthors developed their conclusions gleaned from these interviews and tested them with a unique independent survey. The results “showed significant differences in perceptions and mindsets between respondents categorized as `successful' or `unsuccessful' in their professional or personal lives.”

Sir Richard Branson, best known for his successful Virgin brand, is an example of someone who lives his authentic lifestyle with passion. He tells us:

From Bono and Quincy Jones to Maya Angelou and The Dalai Lama, they all challenged themselves to do more, be more and give back more than even they thought possible. Everyone wants success, but you can do better than that. This is an extraordinary book that finally reveals a meaningful 'secret formula' for success based on the lives of remarkable people.

Results of the interviews and survey conducted by the coauthors found that the most successful people were those that had connected their lives with what was most meaningful to them. They found ways to express their unique gifts, giving value to others and over time, the vast majority of them also enjoyed great wealth.

For most people, the pursuit of wealth in and of itself is not enough to create great abundance in their lives. That’s not to say there aren’t some who just love making money – Donald Trump comes to mind. Yet if you look closely you’ll find these people are getting their joy from the process of “doing the deal,” putting the pieces together, solving the challenges that come up. That’s their passion and the wealth, money, finances come as a result of doing what they love to do.

How do you bridge this gap between living your authentic lifestyle and creating wealth?

The first principle of creating wealth in all areas is that you have to give in order to receive. That’s the natural flow of energy. In the business world, this is expressed as giving value. The more value you give, the more people are willing to pay for that value. In return you receive more profits.

A key element of this principle is that you can only give what you have to give. Are you someone who sees yourself as a “giver?” Those of us who are givers have each reached points in our lives where we have given and given and given until there’s nothing left to give. Burn-out is a typical result. Or even self-destruction to some extent.

As the natural principles and laws of energy operate - there has to be flow. There has to be the giving and then also the openness and willingness to receive. It’s that flow that allows the creation of abundance in one’s life and in creation as a whole.

Apply these principles to your own authentic lifestyle

This is the first of 7 principles that when applied in your own life will allow you to move from knowing what your passions are to being able to live those passions and fund your authentic lifestyle. Applying this first principle means that you create and “be” in that flow of giving and also create an openness to receiving in return.

How can you follow your passions and at the same time create that flow that will generate abundance in your own life and in the lives of the people around you?
